A 2-practitioner private dermatology clinic on Harley Street, seeing roughly 60–80 patients a week.
Largely self-pay and consultation-led – high treatment values, patients who research carefully and expect a fast, professional response before they commit.
THE PROBLEM
The only way patients came was word-of-mouth, experience, and location, and the practice couldn’t catch them once they arrived.
Enquiries from the site form and out-of-hours messages sat unanswered until the next working morning – sometimes over a weekend. For a clinic where a single consultation can lead to £350 to £5000 in treatment, every enquiry that cooled overnight was a patient booked for whichever competitor replied first.
Three gaps, specifically:
- No Marketing / Digital Credibility
- No way to answer or capture enquiries outside clinic hours.
- Thin visibility in local search – they weren’t showing up when patients searched “private dermatologist near me / Harley Street.”
- Invisible to AI search – when prospective patients asked ChatGPT or Google’s AI for a recommendation, the clinic didn’t appear at all.
WHAT WE IMPLEMENTED
- Website AI assistant – a 24/7 assistant on the site that answers enquiries instantly, qualifies them, and captures contact details day or night, including weekends.
- SEO – built a new site, restructured the core service pages so the clinic ranks for the treatments and locations its patients actually search.
- GEO (AI-search visibility) – structured the clinic’s content so it can be surfaced and recommended by ChatGPT, Perplexity, and AI-powered search – the channel most competitors are still invisible in.
- Social – set up a consistent, on-brand presence that reinforces credibility for patients who check before booking.
WHAT CHANGED
- Response time: from ~14 hours / next working day → under a minute, 24/7.
- Enquiries captured after hours: 227 in the last 60 days that would previously have gone unanswered.
- Search visibility: ranking on page 1 for multiple target treatment + location terms within 16 weeks.
- AI search: now surfaced as a recommendation for [specific query, e.g. “private dermatologist Harley Street”] where the clinic previously did not appear.

5. THE VALUE – A WORKED MODEL
What the gap was costing (before):
- Average value of a booked dermatology consultation → treatment: £750 (use the clinic’s own pricing)
- After-hours / weekend enquiries received per month: 98
- Share previously lost because no one replied in time: 64%
→ Enquiries lost per month: 98 × 64% = 62 enquiries
→ Even if only [1 in 4] of those would have booked: 15 patients/month
→ Value at risk: 15 × £750= ≈ £11,250 per month in enquiries that were quietly leaking out of the practice.
What it costs:
- Docwise Growth Desk: £699/month
- Costs less than the average patient value, i.e., £750.
Recovering just 1 otherwise-missed patient a month more than pays for the system. In the last 30 days, the clinic captured 98 enquiries that would previously have gone unanswered.
